TL;DR: Redmond is the unusual city where two clubs hold the same full ECNL ladder. Crossfire Premier and PacNW SC are both recorded in Redmond, and both carry ECNL Boys, ECNL Girls, ECNL RL Boys, ECNL RL Girls, Pre-ECNL Boys, and Pre-ECNL Girls places. Crossfire adds NPL on top. Around them, the Eastside adds two more clubs with a live ClubScout profile: Eastside FC in Issaquah and Sound FC, which the club says is based in Woodinville. When league profiles match this closely, league name stops being a useful way to choose. The coach, the training site, and the drive on SR 520 or I-405 at 5:30 PM decide it. This guide lists facts, not rankings.
Are you a club director on the Eastside? Parents in Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, and Sammamish are searching for program details every tryout season, and no Eastside club in our data publishes a season fee. How This Guide Works
We do not rank clubs. For each one we list what our database confirms, what the club says about itself, and where our data runs thin. League affiliations come only from confirmed league records, not from club marketing. Where a club's own website describes a league we cannot confirm, we say so plainly.

For what the league names mean, see ECNL, MLS NEXT, Girls Academy, and NPL. For head-to-head comparisons, read MLS NEXT vs ECNL and ECNL vs Girls Academy.
Read this before you compare anything. ECNL, ECNL Regional League, and Pre-ECNL are three different leagues, and both Redmond clubs hold all three on both the boys and girls sides. When a club offers your player "a spot in our ECNL program," ask which of the three they mean. The travel, the cost, and the weekly commitment differ a lot between them. ECNL RL vs EDP vs NECSL explains where the regional tier sits.
The Redmond Clubs
Crossfire Premier
Location: Redmond, WA Leagues: ECNL Boys, ECNL Girls, NPL, ECNL RL Boys, ECNL RL Girls, Pre-ECNL Boys, Pre-ECNL Girls Gender: Boys and girls
Seven confirmed league places. That ties Crossfire with one other club for the deepest league profile in our Washington data. It spans all three ECNL levels on both sides, plus NPL. In practice, a player can enter at Pre-ECNL around U9 and move up or down a tier without changing clubs, which is worth real money for a family planning eight or ten years ahead.
Our record is thin beyond the league places. We have no confirmed founding year, training sites, staff, tryout dates, or fees. The league data is solid; everything else needs a phone call. Ask three things first: where your player's age group trains, which of the seven leagues their team plays in, and the all-in annual cost.
PacNW SC
Location: Redmond, WA Leagues: ECNL Boys, ECNL Girls, ECNL RL Boys, ECNL RL Girls, Pre-ECNL Boys, Pre-ECNL Girls Gender: Boys and girls
Six confirmed league places, forming the same three-tier ECNL ladder as Crossfire on both sides. The only league difference between the two Redmond clubs is Crossfire's NPL place.
That is a useful situation for a parent. When two clubs in one city hold the same league places, the league logo tells you nothing, so you get to compare the things that matter. Which club has a coach at your player's age group you trust? Which training field is closer to your house? Which one offers your player a first-team spot and which offers a second team? Our data on PacNW SC is as thin as on Crossfire, so the answers come from visits, not from websites.
The Rest of the Eastside
Eastside FC
Location: Issaquah, WA (training at Preston Athletic Fields, Bellevue College, and Central Park in Issaquah) Leagues: NPL Gender: Boys and girls
Founded in 1970 as part of the Eastside Youth Soccer Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It is one of the largest clubs in the state: more than 100 teams and more than 50 licensed staff, from U8 through U19. Per the club, it has seen 500+ college commitments since 1998 and 56 players recruited to MLS academies since 2015.
There is a gap between the club's description and our league data, and you should know about it. The club's own site describes ECNL, ECNL RL, and RCL teams, per the club. The only league place confirmed in our records is NPL. That does not mean the club is wrong. It means we cannot confirm the ECNL claim yet. Ask which league each age group actually plays in for 2026–27, and get the answer in writing.
The rest of the record is unusually detailed. Financial aid and scholarships are available. Tryout contacts are split by age: Troy Letherman for boys U13–U19, Tim Reynolds (technical director) for girls U13–U19, and Xinho Prestes for U12 and younger. The club also runs futsal, camps, a Leadership Academy, a coaching internship, and a college recruiting program. For Sammamish and Issaquah families, the Preston and Central Park sites are the nearest competitive fields on this list. For Redmond families, expect a 20- to 30-minute drive on a school night.
Sound FC
Location: Woodinville, WA (per the club; our record has no confirmed city) Leagues: MLS NEXT Gender: Boys (confirmed); girls program per the club
The premier program of the nonprofit Northshore Youth Soccer Association, and the only Eastside club in our data with a confirmed MLS NEXT place. For a Redmond, Kirkland, or Bothell family whose son is aiming at MLS NEXT, Sound FC is the local option. The alternatives are across the lake in Seattle or up I-405 in Everett.
Per the club, it has joined MLS NEXT 2 in the Pacific division and its girls program is entering Girls Academy Aspire. Neither is in our league records yet, so confirm both directly. The club describes a three-pillar philosophy (Sound Minds, Sound Bodies, Sound Skills), a goalkeeping academy, and free college recruiting prep. The club says tryouts are open; dates and age groups were not on the page we read.
Two more Eastside records are in review. XF Academy (recorded in Redmond) and Liverpool FC IA Washington (recorded in Issaquah) are in our database but not yet approved, so we do not link them or describe their leagues here. If you meet either at a tryout, confirm the program and the league directly.
What Club Soccer Costs on the Eastside
No Eastside club in our data publishes a season fee. The ranges below are modeled from comparable programs in other states we cover, not scraped from these clubs. Treat them as a starting point for the conversation, not as a quote.
| Level | Estimated Annual Range | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| MLS NEXT | $3,500–$6,500+ | Modeled |
| ECNL Boys / ECNL Girls | $3,500–$6,000 | Modeled |
| NPL | $2,500–$4,500 | Modeled |
| ECNL RL | $2,500–$4,500 | Modeled |
| Pre-ECNL (U9–U12) | $1,200–$2,500 | Modeled |
What those numbers usually leave out: kit, tournament entry, travel to out-of-state showcases, and winter training. At the national tier, travel is the line item that surprises families most. An ECNL season from the Pacific Northwest means flights, not drives. See the club soccer budget guide before you sign anything.
Frequently Asked Questions
Crossfire Premier or PacNW SC — how do I choose?
Not by league. Their ECNL, ECNL RL, and Pre-ECNL places are identical; Crossfire adds NPL. Compare the coach your player would actually get, the training location for that age group, and which team (first or second) your player is being offered. Ask both for the all-in annual cost in writing. If the answers come out close, pick the shorter drive. Families who leave a club mid-pathway most often blame the commute, not the coaching.
Which Eastside club is the MLS NEXT option?
Sound FC is the only Eastside club with a confirmed MLS NEXT place in our data. Beyond the Eastside, Seattle Celtic and Washington Rush also hold MLS NEXT places. MLS NEXT vs ECNL covers the difference if your son has offers from both sides.
What are the options for girls?
Both Redmond clubs hold ECNL Girls, ECNL RL Girls, and Pre-ECNL Girls places, so a girl can stay local through three tiers. For Girls Academy, the confirmed options nearby are Seattle Celtic and Washington Rush. Statewide, Girls Academy is the bigger girls pathway, which is unusual. Read ECNL vs Girls Academy before you assume the more familiar name fits better.
Is it worth crossing the lake to play in Seattle?
Sometimes, but price in the bridge. Redmond to Seattle on SR 520 is a short drive on paper and a long one at practice time, three nights a week. Seattle United holds the same ECNL ladder as the two Redmond clubs, so a Redmond family crossing for it is paying in time for a different coach, not a different league. That can be the right call. Just make it on purpose.
My kid isn't ready for a national-league team. What are the options?
Both Redmond clubs hold ECNL RL places on the boys and girls sides, which is competitive play with a regional travel footprint. Eastside FC fields more than 100 teams and, per the club, runs RCL teams below its top level, which is where most Washington travel soccer actually happens. Starting one tier lower at a club with a ladder is almost always better than starting one tier too high at a club without one. See recreational vs. travel soccer and the age-by-age guide.
When do Eastside clubs hold tryouts?
We do not have confirmed tryout dates for any of the four clubs. Across Washington, tryouts run February through June depending on level and age group, with the national-league tiers usually first. Check each club's site directly in winter, and ask whether any identification sessions happen before the public tryout.
What to Do Next
- Find out which tier you are being offered. At both Redmond clubs, "ECNL" can mean three different leagues. Ask before you plan anything else.
- Drive the route at practice time. Redmond to Issaquah, Woodinville, or across 520 all look short on a map. Do the drive on a Tuesday at 5:30 PM before you commit.
- Ask to join a session, not just watch one. Many clubs allow a trial session if you ask. A session your kid actually plays in tells you more than any website.
- Get the all-in annual number in writing. No Eastside club publishes a fee. Ask what is excluded: kit, tournament entries, showcase travel, and winter training.
