Club Soccer in Denver, CO: A Complete Guide for Parents (2026)

ClubScout Team

TL;DR: The Denver metro has 7 clubs on ClubScout with a live profile and confirmed league affiliations, plus 1 more in Boulder County. Three things define the market. The ECNL ladder sits in three clubs: Colorado Rush in Littleton, Colorado Storm in Aurora, and Colorado EDGE in Arvada. MLS NEXT is spread wider, across two ALBION SC listings and Skyline Soccer Association in Englewood. And the girls' side leans DPL: four Denver-metro clubs hold a Development Player League place, against two with ECNL Girls. No club here publishes a competitive season fee. This guide lists facts, not rankings. The right club depends on which side of the metro you live on and which team your player is actually offered.

Are you a club director in the Denver area? Parents across the Front Range search for program details every tryout season, and fees are the hardest thing for them to find. Claim your free ClubScout profile to verify your details, publish your cost ranges, and respond to parent reviews.

How This Guide Works

We are not ranking these clubs. For each one we list what we can confirm and flag where our data runs thin. A few Denver clubs have rich records in our directory. Several have little beyond their league places, and we say so rather than fill the gap with guesses. Use this as a starting point, then visit, watch a session, and talk to current parents.

Our guide on how to choose a club covers the framework, and the coach evaluation guide has the questions worth asking at every tryout. New to this? Start with recreational vs. travel soccer, the age-by-age guide, and the youth soccer glossary.

For what these league names mean, see MLS NEXT, ECNL, DPL, NPL, and Girls Academy.

The thing to understand before you compare anything. National ECNL and the ECNL Regional League are different leagues. Three Denver clubs hold an ECNL Boys place, and the same three hold ECNL RL places underneath it. Pre-ECNL is a feeder tier below both, generally U9 through U12. When a Denver club offers your player "our ECNL team," ask which of the three they mean. The travel, the cost, and the commitment differ a lot. ECNL RL vs EDP vs NECSL covers where the regional tier sits.

The Clubs

Colorado Rush

Location: Littleton, CO (main office in southeast Denver; regional sites in Lakewood/Littleton, Aurora, Thornton, and Evergreen, plus Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Northern Colorado) Leagues: ECNL Boys, ECNL Girls, ECNL RL Boys, ECNL RL Girls, Pre-ECNL Boys, Pre-ECNL Girls, DPL, NPL Gender: Coed

Eight confirmed league places, the most of any Colorado club in our data. Rush is a 501(c)(3) and part of the Rush network, which the club puts at more than 125 clubs worldwide. Inside the metro it runs four regional sites: Lakewood/Littleton (the flagship), East in Aurora, North in Thornton, and Mountain in Evergreen.

The ladder is long. It starts with Soccer Stars for toddlers and recreational soccer from U4, then a Youth Academy for U9 to U12, Junior and Senior Academy teams, and Elite boys and girls teams for U13 to U19. A College Advisory Program, futsal, a winter league, and camps round it out. Leadership on record includes John Carroll as President and CEO and Mark Hiemenz as Executive Director.

The size cuts both ways. A club with this many sites can place your player close to home, but tryouts and teams are run per location. Ask which site your player's team would train at, and whether the Elite team draws from the whole metro or from one region.

Colorado Storm

Location: Aurora, CO Leagues: ECNL Boys, ECNL Girls, ECNL RL Boys, ECNL RL Girls, Pre-ECNL Boys, Pre-ECNL Girls Gender: Coed

A full three-tier ECNL ladder on both the boys' and girls' sides. Only one other Denver club can say that: Colorado Rush. It means a player can move up or down a tier without changing clubs, which matters more than most families expect between U12 and U15.

Our record holds little beyond the league places: no website, training sites, staff, or fees. Treat the affiliations as verified and everything else as a question for the club. For families in Aurora, Centennial, and the east metro, it is the nearest club with national ECNL on both sides.

Colorado EDGE

Location: Arvada, CO Leagues: ECNL Boys, ECNL RL Boys, ECNL RL Girls, Pre-ECNL Boys, Pre-ECNL Girls Gender: Coed

National ECNL on the boys' side, with the girls topping out at the regional league. That shape is easy to miss on a club website, and it matters if you have a daughter who may outgrow the regional tier. For northwest-metro families in Arvada, Westminster, and Wheat Ridge, EDGE is the closest ECNL club. Our record is thin beyond the league places, so confirm training sites, age groups, and fees directly.

ALBION SC Denver

Location: Denver, CO (Aurora Sports Park; North High School) Leagues: MLS NEXT, DPL Gender: Coed

Part of the national ALBION SC network. The pathway runs from ALBION Juniors through an Academy tier to MLS NEXT for boys U13 to U19 and DPL for girls U13 to U19. Below that, the club fields Colorado Soccer Association (CSA) competitive teams for U6 to U19, so there is a state-league option inside the same club.

This is the most detailed tryout record in our Denver data. For 2026-27, MLS NEXT boys tried out on April 23 and 30 at Aurora Sports Park, and girls and general competitive sessions ran on May 1, May 3, and May 16 to 18. Expect a similar spring window next year.

One thing to check now: the club notes that its leagues move from birth-year to school-year age groups starting in 2026-27, with an August 1 to July 31 cutoff. If your kid has a summer birthday, the team they land on may not match last year's. Per the club, the ALBION network counts more than $62 million in college scholarships and 36 national team players. Those are network-wide figures, not Denver figures.

ALBION SC Colorado

Location: Denver, CO (listed venue: Peak to Peak Stadium, Boulder area) Leagues: MLS NEXT, DPL Gender: Coed

A second ALBION SC listing with its own website. Its recorded city is Denver, but its listed venue is in the Boulder area, so map the drive before you assume it is a city club. The pathway runs from ALBION Juniors through Pre-Elite to the MLS NEXT tier and an Elite tier.

It also fields senior USL League 2 and USL W League sides. That is unusual for a youth club and gives older players a visible next step after U19. The club runs ECNL and Girls Academy Talent ID sessions, but our league data does not confirm an ECNL or Girls Academy place for this record. Ask which teams those sessions actually feed.

Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club

Location: Denver, CO Leagues: DPL, National Academy League Gender: Coed

The youth club affiliated with the Colorado Rapids. Our record holds little beyond the two league places, so confirm age groups, training sites, and fees directly. It is a different program from the Rapids' own MLS academy, which is still in review in our directory (see below). Ask how the two connect and whether a player in one can be scouted into the other.

Skyline Soccer Association

Location: Englewood, CO Leagues: MLS NEXT Gender: Not confirmed

Our record holds only the league place: no website, age groups, or training sites. That makes it the hardest club here to evaluate from the outside. Confirm which age groups play in MLS NEXT, since many clubs hold a place only from U13 up, and what sits underneath for younger players.

Up US-36: ALBION SC Boulder County

ALBION SC Boulder County holds an MLS NEXT place and a Girls Academy ASPIRE place, which the club says it was awarded for 2026-27. ASPIRE is Girls Academy's second tier, not a full Girls Academy place. Girls Academy vs DPL explains where it sits. Programs cover boys and girls from U8 to U19, and the club also plays in the CSA Front Range and Advanced Leagues. It held an Open House on July 16 to evaluate players for 2026-27, a later window than most. For Broomfield, Louisville, and north-metro families, it may be a shorter drive than central Denver.

In Review: Not Yet Live

Five more Denver-area records hold league places but are still in review, so we don't link them yet. Some are duplicates of one club.

  • Colorado Rapids (MLS NEXT). The fuller Rapids record describes a fully funded academy with teams from U13 to U18/19 and Rapids 2 in MLS NEXT Pro above it. A pro academy selects players more than players choose it. Ask how it identifies players instead of waiting for a tryout listing.
  • Colorado United SC (MLS NEXT) and Colorado United (Girls Academy, DPL) are probably one club in Littleton. The fuller record lists competitive, recreational, futsal, and TOPSoccer programs for players with disabilities.
  • Broomfield Soccer Club (MLS NEXT, Girls Academy, DPL, NPL). Its record lists recreational soccer for U4 to U14, a Junior Academy for U9 and U10, a Pre-Academy for U11 and U12, and competitive teams for U13 to U19, with a separate director for each age band and gender.
  • Real Colorado holds ECNL Boys, ECNL Girls, ECNL RL Boys, ECNL RL Girls, Pre-ECNL Boys, Pre-ECNL Girls, and DPL places in our data, but its record has no city yet.

When these clear review, the Denver market gets noticeably wider, especially for girls. Until then, treat them as names to call, not profiles to compare.

What Club Soccer Costs in Denver

No Denver-area club with a live profile publishes a competitive season fee. The ranges below are modeled from comparable programs, not taken from local club sites. Treat them as a planning envelope, not a quote.

Level Estimated Annual Total Notes
MLS club academy Travel and gear only Fully funded; selection-based
MLS NEXT (fee-based) / ECNL $6,000–$12,000+ National showcases, often flights
ECNL RL $3,800–$8,000 Regional conference play
DPL / NPL $3,200–$6,000 DPL is the widest girls' league here
Pre-ECNL (U9–U12) $2,000–$4,200 The feeder tier
State-league competitive (CSA) $2,000–$4,500 Where many Denver travel players land
Junior academy (U7–U10) $800–$2,100 Every club names it differently

These are totals including kit ($150–$400 in year one), tournament entries, and family travel, not dues alone. Two Denver notes. First, ask how winter training works. October through April can push teams onto turf and indoor futsal, and some clubs charge for that separately. Second, a "regional" schedule from Denver can still mean long drives to Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, or out of state, so ask for last season's away schedule. For the Colorado numbers line by line, see our Colorado cost breakdown. For ways to spend less, see our budget guide. If you have more than one player, read multiple kids in club soccer first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Denver club is best for boys?

There isn't one answer, and the drive narrows it fast. For national ECNL: Colorado Rush, Colorado Storm, and Colorado EDGE. For MLS NEXT: ALBION SC Denver, ALBION SC Colorado, and Skyline Soccer Association. Read what MLS NEXT is and what ECNL is before you weigh one against the other. Then watch a training session.

Which Denver club is best for girls?

Two clubs hold an ECNL Girls place: Colorado Rush and Colorado Storm. Four hold a DPL place: Colorado Rush, ALBION SC Denver, ALBION SC Colorado, and Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club. DPL is where much of Denver's girls' competition happens. Read DPL vs ECNL and our girls club soccer guide. The coach matters more than the league name.

When do Denver clubs hold tryouts?

Mostly spring. ALBION SC Denver held MLS NEXT boys tryouts in late April 2026 and girls sessions through mid-May. ALBION SC Boulder County held a July Open House. Colorado Rush lists tryouts per location. That is a three-month spread across one metro, so check each club's site from March on.

How much does the commute matter?

More than league tier, for most families. The clubs here spread from Arvada in the northwest to Aurora in the east and Littleton and Englewood in the south, with Boulder County up US-36. A club 15 miles away can be a 45-minute drive on I-25, C-470, or I-225 at 5:30 PM. Families who leave a club mid-pathway most often name the drive, not the coaching. Drive the route at practice time before you commit.

My kid isn't ready for a national-league club. What are the options?

There are good ones. Colorado Rush, Colorado Storm, and Colorado EDGE all run ECNL RL Boys, ECNL RL Girls, Pre-ECNL Boys, and Pre-ECNL Girls teams below their national ones. ALBION SC Denver runs CSA competitive teams from U6 to U19. Starting a tier lower at a club with a ladder is almost always better than starting a tier too high at a club without one. See recreational vs. travel soccer.

What about clubs not listed here?

Five Denver-area records are in review and not linked above, and CSA runs many more clubs at the state-league level than we carry. This guide undercounts Denver's options below the national tier. If you are weighing a move from a current club, see when to switch clubs.

What to Do Next

  1. Find out which tier you are actually being offered. National ECNL, ECNL RL, and Pre-ECNL are three different leagues with three different budgets. Ask before you plan anything else.
  2. Check your player's age group under the new cutoff. Some Denver leagues move to an August 1 to July 31 school-year cutoff for 2026-27. Ask every club where your player lands.
  3. Match the club to your side of the metro. South and southwest: Colorado Rush, Skyline Soccer Association. East: Colorado Storm, ALBION SC Denver. Northwest: Colorado EDGE. North and Boulder County: ALBION SC Boulder County, ALBION SC Colorado.
  4. Ask for the all-in annual number in writing. No club here publishes a competitive season fee. Ask what is excluded: kit, tournament entries, winter futsal, summer training, and state registration.
