Thornton Academy

Thornton Academy is an independent, co-educational private boarding and day school founded in 1811 in Saco, Maine. Serving grades 6-12, the academy operates on an 80-acre campus and serves 1,600 local and international students from more than 30 Maine towns and 52 countries. The school offers over 200 courses, 50+ sports teams, and emphasizes diversity, multiculturalism, and individualized student support. Thornton Academy is the largest independent school in Maine and features comprehensive academics with 26 AP classes and extensive athletics programs.
