About
The Root Social Justice Center is a Vermont-based, BIPOC-led racial justice organization located in Brattleboro, VT, founded to center blackness and serve Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities. Established as a hub for racial justice organizing, The Root operates from 28 Williams Street and provides a physically and financially accessible space for social justice groups to meet. The organization offers various programs including Youth 4 Change, BIPOC Financial Empowerment Program, and the SYNC program for young neurodiverse children and caregivers. With over 12 years of operation, The Root focuses on shifting resources to BIPOC leadership, connection, healing, education and the arts while supporting racial justice movement work.
