Elm City Internationals is a New Haven-based soccer organization founded in 2008 by Lauren Mednick that uses soccer as a platform to create supportive learning communities for low-income adolescent boys. The program combines athletic training with academic tutoring and mentorship, achieving a 100% college graduation rate among alumni. ECI's unique approach emerged from Mednick's work with refugee students and focuses on building confidence through soccer while providing educational support and opportunities.
