Cantera Soccer Club was founded in 2013 in Montgomery County, Maryland by professional soccer coach Diego Federico, originally from Argentina. The club competes in MSI Classic, SAM, and travel leagues, offering programs for boys and girls ages 7 through high school. Cantera emphasizes player development both on and off the field, using soccer to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and a sense of belonging. The club operated under MDFusion from 2017 to 2024 before returning to independent operation.
