About
Almaden FC (Almaden Futbol Club) is a competitive youth soccer club based in San Jose, CA, serving the Almaden area of the South Bay. The club offers both competitive and recreational programs, with competitive teams operating year-round from mid-July through mid-June across boys and girls divisions. AFC participates in elite leagues including Girls Academy, MLS NEXT, and National Premier Leagues, and also fields a USL League Two pre-professional men's team. In partnership with Santa Cruz Breakers FC, AFC is a founding member of the North Western Conference of the Girls Academy League, fielding teams from U14 to U19. The club's philosophy emphasizes player development pathways from recreational entry points through elite competition, supported by a large professional coaching staff.

Players must tryout to join competitive teams. Tryouts involve competitive-style training sessions including technical drills, 1v1 games, and small-sided scrimmages. Players wear a number for coach identification. Groups are formed by birth year and gender. Attending both tryout days is highly encouraged though not mandatory.
